Location, location, location is a challenge for every Bride!

clock April 28, 2008 22:29 by author naikins
Despair not ladies! For the next couple of weeks I will be highlighting wedding venues that are located right here in Austin, Texas. There are quite a few wedding venues that compete in beauty and services. Every wedding venue has its own rules and regulations which is another topic all together.
Inside Chapel Dulcinea

In today’s article we will highlight our first venue, by name Chapel Dulcinea. It is a romantic little Chapel that is located approximately 20 minutes from downtown Austin.

The local of the Chapel offers a breath taking view of Texas hill country. It seats 12 people and another approximately 30 to 35 people can stand. This is a perfect place for small and private weddings. One of the Chapels’ treats is being open-air. You can visit Chapel Dulcinea Monday through Friday from 7 am to 9 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 9 pm.

Tell us your favorite wedding venue. Your Austin Wedding Photographer - PIICX.

You too can have beautiful Wedding Pictures

clock April 27, 2008 22:06 by author naikins

As  you go through wedding magazines like The Knot, Modern Bride, Brides, and Elegant Bride to name a few, you see beautiful wedding pictures. I tell my brides that they do have influence on the quality of their wedding pictures. If you follow these tips below, you too can attain those beautiful wedding pictures.

 1)    Be on time for your wedding photos. In a situation where you are running late, your wedding photographer will not have time to document your  wedding day properly. He or she will have to rush and take a few snap shots here and there.  Rushed shots are only snap shots!

 2)    Share your wedding day plans with your photographer. As a bride, you have to have planned out your wedding day ahead of time. Write out all  activities that you plan to partake on your wedding day. With your wedding photographer knowing where you are through-out the day, may increase chances for them to come up with more desirable shots. If you need to call them and discuss specifics, do so. Every professional wedding photographer these days has access to email or phone. Use these tools. Remember, your wedding photographer is there to work with you.

3)    Do not rush your wedding photographer. If you have planned to take your formal and group pictures right after your ceremony, make sure you work with your photographer as they pose you for your most flattering shot. Avoid rushing to the reception, family and friends will be glad to accommodate for your absence.

4)    Relax, for stress is visible on pictures.  Be in the moment and smile, it is your wedding day!

5)    Let your wedding photographer know of any poses you wish to have on your album. Looking at wedding magazines, you may come across a pose that you have fallen in love with. Show it to your wedding photographer during your consultation. Every wedding photographer has their own style of shooting a wedding and they may not think of the exact poses you may have in mind.

6)    Coordinate your wedding colors. Take a good look at your favorite wedding magazine and see how well colors are coordinated. You have to make sure that your hall is well decorated. Remember, less is more. Pay attention on your centerpieces, table covers, china, and silverware that you choose to rent or purchase. Let it all come together.  Beautiful pictures can be obtained by collaborating with your wedding photographer, your hard work on being there on time and being there in mind.

Choosing a Wedding Photography Package

clock April 26, 2008 14:00 by author vaikins

Most brides choose their wedding photographer solely based on the pictures they see on the web or in the photographers’ albums. Unfortunately, little attention is paid to the wedding photography packages they invest in.  In other words, pay attention to what is included in the package you choose. Here are a few things to note as you shop around for your wedding photographer.

1)      Review the content of a package you are about to purchase. Make sure you compare your package with other packages that your wedding photographer offers.

2)      As you consult with your wedding photographer have them clarify what is or is not included in the package of your choice. Do not assume anything. If your wedding photographer offers you a price discount or additional services for promotional reasons, make sure it is in writing.

3)      If possible choose a package that offers a second shooter. This offers the most complete coverage and the added benefit of your pictures taken from several angles. This however, does not mean you should hire two wedding photographers, that will only cause chaos.

4)      Pay attention to the number of hours listed in the package. Some wedding photography packages would indicate the exact hours of coverage and some do not. Make sure that your package of choice would cover the key events of your wedding day. For example; bridal preparation, service, first dance and cake cutting shots.

5)      Albums, prints, and slideshows, may or may not be part of your package. You could find yourself paying mostly for coverage and only receive a DVD with a certain number of images.

6)      Always read the fine print on your contract. If you have questions, ask, ask and ask again.

Be an informed bride!

3 Months to my wedding day and I need to loose weight!

clock April 25, 2008 14:01 by author vaikins

As I promised in my previous article, I did a bit of research to find ways a bride can kick up their weight loss program. I am not a medical advisor, therefore; before you start practicing any of these tips check with your doctor.

These following tips are for brides that have three months to their wedding and would like to loose between ten to fifteen pounds. Depending on your dedication to these tips your results may be even more rewarding.

1)      Exercise more than three times a week. Five days is ideal. Make sure you dedicate three days to lifting weights and two for cardio. Benefit: lifting weights will sculpt your body, and is a more effective fat burner.

2)      Remember to drink a good amount of water. Benefit: keeps your skin hydrated.

3)      Avoid sugar like the plague in food and in drinks. Be vigil in reading sugar content for the food you eat.

4)      Avoid carbohydrates; however embrace carbohydrates that are drawn from vegetables. For example: Avoid bread, rice, cereal, potatoes, pasta, and fried food with breading. Yet embrace: cauliflower, broccoli and sweet potatoes. Other foods that you can enjoy are legumes: lentils, black beans, pinto beans. Vegetables: spinach, asparagus, peas and mixed vegetables.

5)      Avoid caffeine.

6)      Keep your fruit intake it a minimum. Due to the fact that they contain sugar. However, you need to take in blueberries and strawberries to increase your antioxidant count in your body.

7)      Ware less make up a month leading up to your wedding day. This will give your skin a chance to breath and build on its natural glow.

8)      Increase your protein intake to help vibrancy in your hair and heath of your nails.

9)      Eat plain yogurt. To make it easier to have add a few strawberries or blueberries. Benefit: Yogurt contains calcium which aids your fat burning quest.

10)   Pamper yourself. This is not the time to try new products for recovery time from burns or rashes caused by new products may run into your wedding day. However, it is utmost important that you take some time off from your stressful days of planning your wedding day and pamper yourself. Make sure you receive facials that promote skin glow and skin rejuvenation.  It never hurts to include cleansing, exfoliation, massage, and special masque treatment that moisture your skin. Remember one thing, a stress free body is more likely to loose weight!

I wish you ladies all the best in your quest,

The Right Wedding Dress Size

clock April 24, 2008 23:01 by author vaikins

On my last wedding shoot, I worked with a bride whose wedding dress did not fit. Unfortunately, she did not have a second wedding gown to walk down the aisle with. You can only imagine what happened with the make up she had so carefully applied. Wasted! Luckily the bride’s mother was able to step in and save the day. She literally ripped open one side of the dress and pin it up.

If I could advise a bride I would insist on three things. First, purchase a wedding dress that is actually your dress size. A wedding dress that is two to three sizes smaller will have disastrous results. I know that every bride’s dream is to look chic on their wedding day. No doubt about it, however; a lot of brides do not realize how fast time passes. Dropping two to three dress sizes in a few months is more challenging than it appears to be.

Second, keep your stress level low. Planning a wedding is a high stress engagement. Stress can be caused by vendors and, or family dynamics. Through out your preparation time there will always be hard decisions to be made or challenges to be resolved. Mostly in these situations, brides find soles in food.Third but not least, watch what you eat and exercise regularly to keep off those creeping pounds.

On your wedding day, no one will be asking what dress size you are wearing. However everyone will be admiring how beautifully your dress sits on you!  Stay tuned to my next entry. I will address ways a bride can loose weight fast, if you find yourself in a bind with three months left.
